Wes Nash

As artists we are all in pursuit of capturing "the moment" "the light" and "the energy". Occasionally when painting, I realize I have done something a little differently and I'm really excited by it, this buzz is the artist natural high! This excitement inspires me to keep exploring, with colour, texture and mediums (in the hope someone else will see what what I've done and like it!)

I've taken the last 12 months off from painting, I have travelled and immersed myself in viewing my surrounds and finding my mojo! It’s all coming back to me now, I see, I think, I paint. I read something the other day that said "It's the most insignificant things that can make the most profound impact on your life" - expressing myself through painting is like that for me. So there you have it, my artist’s statement.

I have been painting for over 30 years, I have studied in those years at various art institutions across Australia and enjoyed many hours with private lessons and group workshops with like minded people. I love painting trees of various kinds and colours. Also coastal and inland landscapes, mainly in oils, but some acrylics also. Currently I'm exploring water, with it movement and reflectiveness. My style of painting has been compared to the Canadian Seven, which is an impressionistic fauvist style.

Come and share my home studio with me and see what I'm creating now
