Sally May Mills

Sally creates contemporary functional ceramics that help people to slow down, connect, and embrace ritual and beauty in their everyday. During more than a decade abroad, Sally studied ceramics in Bali and Japan, then returned to Australia to set up her own studio; a light-filled space, set among native bush and produce gardens. She is drawn to the physical and meditative aspects of wheel throwing and strives for a considered sense of form and proportion. As a surfer and nature lover, the ocean and bushland are inspirations for her work, and her pieces exhibit qualities of calmness, joy, and simplicity. Stay for a chai in the studio garden and connect with the maker and the handmade.
