I paint large landscapes and then break them down into smaller rocks and grains of sand. Balance, tension and erosion are properties I aim to portray in my works. I work with acrylics, as I like to be able to move my colours around on the canvas. Most paintings have many layers and a good deal of texture, in part due to the fact I use a cake spatula to apply and remove paint. I hope that people get a sense of location or place when viewing a painting despite how it has been broken down. This will be my 3rd MRROS, I work in solitude, so it is enjoyable to be able to share my studio and ideas with others.
